Statement of Faith
The Authority of the Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired and infallible Word of God. We accept the Bible as our only rule of faith and practice. We believe that the Bible is the eternal Word of God and will never change or pass away (Mark 13:31). All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
God the Father
We believe that God the Father is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere at once. He has no beginning and will have no end. God is sovereign over all. He is the creator of all things which are seen, all things which are unseen, and time itself. He is perfect in all of His essence. He has an everlasting love for all people which is why He created us. He demonstrated His love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
Jesus Christ—God the Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16). He was born to the Virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-38) and lived a perfect sinless life (1 Peter 2:21-22 and 2 Corinthians 5:20-21) that was filled with miraculous power. After serving in public ministry, He was rejected by His people, Israel, and was turned over to Rome to be crucified on a cross. He was placed in a borrowed tomb for 3 days. On the third day He rose from the dead and appeared to many before His ascension to Heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father ever making intercession for us (Romans 8:34 ).
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ paid for all of our sins and made salvation possible by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Jesus was fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14 and Colossians 2:9) and is the only way to God (John 14:6).
God the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of God in operation in us today. When Jesus said “I will not leave you as orphans,” He was promising to return but He was also promising that the Holy Spirit would come to teach and empower believers to be His witnesses in this world (John 14:18-26, Acts 1:8).
Sanctity of Life
We believe that life begins at conception. Jesus is the author of life (Act 3:15) and so it is precious in his sight. The life of the unborn holds the same value as the life of those who are born. (Psalm 139:13, Luke 1:41)
